Our focus on Dos Angeles Ranch is not only quail hunting but more importantly the quail enthusiast. (In our opinion, a "quail enthusiast" is more than just a quail hunter---a "quail enthusiast" is a connoisseur of well-trained dogs---a keen student of habitat---a sportsman who enjoys the collegiality of a group of quail enthusiasts.)

We manage for quail habitat at Dos Angeles Ranch. It is our goal to create the ideal environment to enhance our native quail population. This includes creating adequate edge, enhancing native food sources, supplementing feed when necessary, and retaining nesting areas and quail houses (mottes) in the natural terrain.

We believe that predation can negatively affect a quail population. We have a very active predator control program and seen a real increase in our quail populations.

At Dos Angeles Ranch, we do not believe that you can have a true quail hunting experience without great dogs. Some of our dogs are raised on the ranch---others are acquired---but, regardless or origin, Ronnie Russell is a great dog trainer and handler. Our dogs are well-handled, love to hunt, and love to retrieve.

Dogs are our friends---they work hard to please us---and, out of pure enjoyment for the chase---and, the hunt. I think that hunting quail in South Texas is the ultimate hunting experience.

At Dos Angeles Ranch, we invite you to bring your own dog if you choose. We have an immaculate and professionally designed twenty dog, kennel and also a separate kennel for visiting dogs.

At Dos Angeles Ranch, we believe in simplicity---simple pricing. However, we can be innovative with large groups or particular scheduling requirements. Remember, our credo is service---and, we are avid quail enthusiasts!

We provide all lodging, food, and two boxes of shells for the morning hunt, and two boxes for the afternoon hunt. Upon request, we can supply shotguns for your use, snake chaps, orange vests, and shooting glasses.
